Programs

Afternoon Tea Program:

A one hour session that is broken up into three sections.

  • Food and Q/A: When did my parents start changing? Do they remember it? How did they feel about it? Did their parents know much?
  • Cupcake facts: Students will be given a cupcake to read out to the group. Facts about the changes these students are to expect over the coming years are read out and answered by us!
  • During this time there is opportunity for any students or parents to ask any questions they may have regarding the changes we have talked about or anything else. Students are also sent home with a goodie bag to encourage them in their coming years of puberty!!

The Grade 4 Program:

Two one-hour sessions discussing the major changes, both physical and emotional during puberty.

Within this program, much of the same content that is provided within the afternoon tea’s are given within these programs, with the exceptions of parents being present. Within this program, students are briefed on the basic changes that occur as they grow up.

The need to be educating students even at this age is growing more and more necessary, particularly for the females, seeing an increase in the prevalence of menstruation at a younger age, (8-10).
